I have a question. Which boot phase does the login screen appear? The login screen, where we enter our password (if we have one).

During the "many things happening in there", is it normal for the hard disk light indicator to not light up or not blinking at all (for 5~7 minutes)? For my old laptop and other computers, during boot process, the light indicator is always on or blinking. It shows that the hard disk is in busy.

In Services, the Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS), and Sync Host (OneSyncSvc), I've changed the startup type to manual. For Sync Host, I can't seem to change the startup type in Services, it shows a warning message "The parameter is incorrect.".  But I managed to change the startup type through Registry Editor, and I've successfully change it to manual startup type. After that I shutdown the laptop and turn it back on. And so, the boot time is just like usual, it took around 5~7 minutes to boot to login screen.

I also tried something else. In the main post, I said all drivers are up to date, and graphics card driver are downloaded from the NVIDIA GeForce official website. When I check at HP website, drivers for my laptop, the version they provide for my graphic card is older (not the latest). So I thought the latest version isn't stable for my laptop, so I uninstall and install the graphic card driver from HP website. Then, the result is, still the same. Slow boot.

Sure this slow boot problem is very hard to solve.

The Welcom screen occurs at 33s from the boot

You hit the CTRL + ALT + DEL keys at 43s and tooks you 36s to enter and validate your password !

are you authenticating against a remote server ? if yes, try to authenticate with a local user acount.

I see that your are using your SD card for Ready Boost. Have you tried to disable it ?

So the Welcome Screen occurs in winlogon boot phase (33s from the boot)? That's really weird. If I use my stopwatch, from the BIOS until it get to Welcome Screen, it took me around 5~7 minutes. After that, I can enter and validate my password. So the Welcome Screen should be around 7 minutes from the first boot.

During and after the Welcome Screen, it's normal for me to have a high disk usage, since I got a lot of programs at startup. Disabling them all won't help the slow boot problem before the Welcome Screen.

For authentication, I already tried with the local user account (offline).

I already tried disable the SD Card for ReadyBoost, but it won't solve the problem (you can see in my main post, where I unplug every USB, SD Card and eject the CD).

But I haven't try resetting the BIOS settings to default yet. I will try it now, and tell the result as soon as possible. (UPDATED: Nope, it doesn't solve anything. I even clear the password I set in BIOS.)

I'm making backup right now. Getting ready to reset my HP laptop.

If there's no other option, then I will proceed to the reset.

I need to get ready for my industrial training in the next month, need to have a good working laptop.

I prefer to use shutdown (without fast startup), rather than hibernate or sleep. It is much better for the long term.
