HP Pavilion 15-eg0950nz: Virtual Keyboard on startup, disappears after OS loads

Hello everyone,

I am currently attempting to fix the device of a customer who reports the following issue:
On boot, a virtual keyboard appears. This had not happened until we had to fix a broken Windows install due to an update. While this keyboard is visible, it appears that the CPU of the notebook runs far slower than usual, increasing boot times drastically. This is, naturally, unacceptable. 

The on-screen keyboard looks like this:

Pressing the keyboard image on the bottom (which curiously seems to be some sort of shutterstock image) will close it, keeping the icon on the screen, and restoring regular system speed. 

I have looked through the BIOS options, and there is no way to turn it off there. Do any of you have an idea what else I could do?

Solution: 

I have noted that the "Boot" tab in msconfig was bugged out, and thus recreated the boot files by starting from a recovery image. This has solved my issue, at least for the startup of the computer when booting to Windows.
