Hi @Karazas,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are getting the blinking white light on your HP Pavilion Model 16 typically indicates a power-related issue. Since you've already tried replacing the battery and charging cable, and the issue persists even without the battery, the problem may lie with the internal components of your laptop. Here's a systematic approach to troubleshooting:

1. Perform a Hard Reset

  • Disconnect all peripherals (e.g., mouse, external drives) and unplug the power adapter.
  • Hold the power button for 30 seconds to drain any residual power.
  • Reconnect the charger (without the battery installed) and try powering it on.

2. Check the Charger and Port

  • Ensure the charger is functional by testing it with another compatible device, if possible.
  • Inspect the charging port on the laptop for any debris, damage, or loose connections. Use a flashlight to check thoroughly.
  • Try charging through a different wall socket or power source.

3. Inspect RAM Modules

  • The blinking light could indicate an issue with the memory (RAM). Here’s how to check:
    1. Turn off the laptop and unplug it.
    2. Open the back cover of your laptop to access the RAM modules (refer to your laptop’s service manual).
    3. Remove and reseat the RAM sticks, ensuring they are firmly in place.
    4. If you have two RAM sticks, test each one individually by powering on the laptop with only one installed.

4. Test with Minimal Configuration

  • Disconnect all non-essential hardware components such as the hard drive and additional peripherals.
  • Try powering on the laptop with only the charger connected and no battery.

5. Reset BIOS (if accessible)

  • If the laptop powers on briefly or has a BIOS reset button (look for a pinhole near the charging port), try resetting the BIOS settings to default.

6. Check for Motherboard Issues

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
