I bought a HP Pavilion HP Pavilion g7-2217cl Notebook PC with Windows 8.0 preinstalled, when it came out at Costco back in 2012-2013, and no issues with it. I recently had some BSOD(Blue Screen Of Death) issues with it and when I went into the HP Recovery built into the computer to do a full system restore/recovery to make it as if it was brand new, it experienced a BSOD when reinstalling the OS and now I don't get any options other than F2 System Diagnostics, which leads to the options: Memory Test, Hard Drive Check, Language, and Exit. I have done both the Quick and Extensive Check on the Hard Drive and the Memory Test with no errors being found. I can get into the BIOS and it will be able to save changes to the BIOS settings. I believe that during the reinstall of the OS from the HP Recovery it got corrupted by the BSOD and think that I need a HP Windows 8.0 install. I don't have access to the OS on the laptop as it will not boot to the desktop even in safe mode. I have tried to restore the BIOS setttings to default and get no change.

Hi:
You can order W8 recovery media from HP at the link below.
Or you can download this plain W8 OEM ISO file below and try that.

Use this tool to transfer the ISO file to a DVD or USB flash drive. The tool will also make either media bootable.
