I own an HP Pavilion 15-ab125ax

notebook, Product Number: P6M13PA#ACJ, currently running BIOS version F.45
Recently my notebookstarted presenting a continuous reboot loop problem, And Showing  ACPI_BIOS_ERROR  that is showing for some seconds the message of a automatic recovery procedure, but soon later rebooting and re-entering in the same loop. I have already tried to boot with  a USB memory stick with Windows 10 64-bit recovery pack from Microsoft, but also in this case it enters the ontinuous reboot loop. And Showing  ACPI_BIOS_ERROR.

I kindly request the official HP SoftPaq link to download BIOS F.45 compatible with my model, so I can create a USB recovery key and perform a downgrade and solve the problem. Please provide also instructions on how creating a USB memory key.

System details:

Model: HP Pavilion 15-ab125ax

Serial Number: 5CD5332QGC

Operating System: Windows 10 Home 64-bit

Current BIOS: F.45

Error: ACPI_BIOS_ERROR (continuous reboot loop on Windows startup)

Greetings @SANJIB10

Welcome to the HP Forum.

Opinions or troubleshooting suggestions in this response are provided independently. I am not employed by: HP, Inc. or the HP Forum.

The processor installed in your Notebook was released for sale in Q2/2015.

Your PC, model number 15-ab125ax is a specific PC in the HP  15-ab100 product series.

This HP Site clearly shows there are zero driver download options available for the entire 15-ab100 product line.

Per Microsoft, a ACPI_BIOS_ERROR this indicates that you have to obtain a new BIOS. HP is not providing any driver download options.

You tried a W10 USB recovery drive giving the same  ACPI_BIOS_ERROR.

You can draw your own conclusion but it may be time to retire this PC. I could not predict if you could install a Linux distro on your PC at this time??

I can only suggest contacting HP Support for factory service. HP may not be able to repair your PC.

Regards

While the reply from @Bill_To  is accurate - the driver section for your notebook shows no drivers available

However, I found a thread on the HP User forum

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Need-BIOS-F-45-for-Pavillion-N...

If you use the link from @Banhien  you can find the BIOS updates.  Here/there will be what you seek.

https://support.hp.com/au-en/drivers/hp-pavilion-15-au100-notebook-pc/12499208

Then select "See Full details"  At the bottom of that listing will be the Revision history

Click on that, then scroll down amongst the history to find the one you seek.  However you could use a slightly newer one, also.  The download button on the right side of the list will take you to the procedure for any one listed.

@SANJIB10

Updating the BIOS will not solve the problem.

Go into the BIOS and hide/disable the TPM security device.

This discussion shows that even with the latest BIOS update installed, the error still occurs:

Greetings @Paul_Tikkanen

I had no idea TPM would be enabled by default on a Legacy HP mobile PC.

Very interesting.

Hi, @Bill_To

I had no idea that a consumer notebook PC that old even had one, until this problem occurred on almost every 15-ab1xx model still in use that come with the AMD processors.

Greetings @Paul_Tikkanen

I agree.

My experience encountering TPM back in the days of yore was limited to business PCs being used in a corporate environment.

Thanks, @Paul_Tikkanen , for that knowledge fact.  I too had no idea a device that old had a TPM module, either.

You're very welcome.

I hope that it solved the OP's issue.

Unfortunately, a disproportionate amount of folks on this forum post questions, get answers, and we never hear back from them one way or the other.
