Hi all -
I've been having some recurring problems where my HP Pavilion laptop fails to find its hard drive, but only occasionally. Sometimes, it will boot up normally, but other times it will show a 'Boot Device Not Found' error for the Hard Disk (3F0). There didn't seem to be a solid fix or cause, but when it would start working as normal my session I had open previously would be there as if nothing happened.
This happened repeatedly some months ago, but seemed to stop after taking it to Best Buy and having them check the hard drive. It seemed like reconnecting the hard drive after running diagnostics managed to fix it, so I thought it was a physical connection being loose.
However, it started happening again recently. This time, Best Buy told me it was more of a motherboard issue, and that I should consider getting a new computer.
I'm posting this from that same laptop, so it's working in the meantime. I'm seriously concerned about being locked out of my PC at any given moment upon rebooting my device.
Has anyone else experienced an issue such as this? Does anyone have insight as to what the problem might be? Thanks -
