Pavilion X360 13-s150sa
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I have a Pavilion X360 just out of waranty which has a black screen when it boots.

Issue:

- Powers on ok (white light on power button)

- Clearly boots from SSD (lights for drive blink away then remain stable)

- No error messages from caps lock key

- Blank screen on laptop (no image at all, not in any position)

- No image when connected to HDMI

Actions taken:

- Hard reset pressing power key for 15 second

- Hard reset, disconnecting battery

- Reset bios with win + B / win + v, seems to reset but no effect

- Update bios via usb, again seems to update but no effect

- Tried re seating the memory, no effect

- Tired new memory module, no effect

- Tried unplugging and re connecting each cable again no effect

I have come to the conculsion that the m/b must be fried and I will need to swap this?

I can not find the m/b part number on HP Partsurfer and am unable to find a label with any kind of part number on the m/b itself

Model: 13-s150sa

Region: UK

S/N:  [personal information removed]

P/N: N7H5SEA#ABU (I think this is just for the case

Warranty:  [personal information removed]

Questions please:

1. Is there anything I haven't tried which might bring this laptop back to life?

2. If I need a new m/b then how do I find the part number and is there anywhere cheap I can buy this (UK ideally)

Many thanks for all your help,

Rob

In order that I may provide you with an accurate solution, I will need a few more details.

When was the last time the computer was working fine?

Have you made any software or hardware changes on the computer?

Meanwhile, I recommend you to connect the computer to a external monitor or TV and check whether you get any display?

Thought I'd add that I have tried holding all 4 cursor keys down while powering on as mentioned in another thread, this did not work either.

Any thoughts much appreciated.

Thank you for your response The_Fossette

Did not make any hardware of software changes prior to the issue. It was working fine with no glitches last week then nothing.

I am baffled. I'd be surprised if it is indeed a fried mother board given this laptop is very new, just over a year old, but given I have re seated every cable and there is no sign of life when plugging in a HDMI display either I am at a loss?

Many thanks.

Thank you The_Fossette

As you would note from my original post I had tried most of those already and re tried just in case.

For the System Diagnistics Test - Is it possible to run this with no display? If it is then I will give it a go.

For the query about the mother board part number are you also able to help with this from the serial number I provided as I am unable to find this on the partfinder.

Many thanks.
