Hello,
I have an HP laptop (model listed above) that doesn't seem to want to detect a hard drive. I have the correct cable, (the cable separates from the board) and I have tried several. Any operating system installer or diagnostic program I use (any form of Linux, DOS, Windows 7/8/10, etc.) do not detect any drives despite there being one connected. I have also tried all of my hard drives, even a few SSDs. I have no idea if it might be an issue with the motherboard, (ID: 358D) all of the 3 cables I've used, or all of the literal tens of drives I've plugged in, ran the diagnostic, and sighed in frustration seeing the "Error: Hard drive not exist". No, that's not a typo, either. they shortened it.

Hi,
Can you provide the exact model or product number of the notebook as there are many Pavilion DV6 series and even more models. Here is how to find it:
Let me know,
David
