@TJ8799, Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the HP Pavilion dv7-7126nr.

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution. We hope our assistance has been helpful!

The issue you're experiencing with your HP Pavilion dv7-7126nr may be related to several possible causes, particularly since you mentioned that resetting the RAM often temporarily resolves the problem. Here are a few troubleshooting steps that you can consider:

  1. Check RAM Compatibility and Condition:

    • Ensure that the RAM modules are compatible with your laptop and that no pins are bent or damaged.
    • Try using different RAM modules if you have any available.
  2. Clean the RAM Slots Thoroughly:

    • Even though you've already cleaned the RAM slots, try using compressed air to ensure any stubborn dust or debris is removed.
  3. Battery and Power Issues:

    • Try starting the laptop with just the AC adapter connected, with the battery removed, to determine if the battery is causing any issues.
    • Check the AC adapter and power cable for any signs of damage.
  4. BIOS Update:

    • Ensure that your laptop's BIOS is up to date. An outdated BIOS can sometimes cause booting issues. You can check HP's official website for any available updates for your model.
  5. Inspect for Overheating Issues:

    • Make sure the cooling fans are functioning correctly, and there's no dust blocking the airflow. Overheating might prevent the computer from starting correctly.
  6. Check for Hardware Issues:

    • It might be worthwhile to remove other components such as the hard drive or any external devices to isolate the problem further.

I hope this helps!

Take care and have an amazing day!
