Hey, sorry for the late reply. I didn't go for the rollback to W8.1 because it seemed too risky. Now, I read the 'readme' file of the F.27 RevA BIOS update for W8 and saw that it supported W10 aswell. Hence, I updated my BIOS and everything went well, expect for one thing.

The WiFi is not working (I have replaced the original WiFi Adapter with a Broadcom BCM943228HM4L 802.11a/b/g/n 2x2 WiFi Adapter, and I do not have access to a LAN cable at the moment). I ran troubleshoot and it says 'Wireless capabilities are turned off'. I have tried turning on the WiFi from CMD Prompt, tried disabling/uninstalling/reinstalling the drivers of WiFi adapter, but no luck. Lastly, I tried downgrading my BIOS but that doesn't work aswell because it either said Unable to open BIOS signature, or the software didn't have option to create USB as a partition etc. Now, I'm thinking about either restoring to W8 because that is compatible with this BIOS and W8.1 is not (its not listed, W8 W7 and W10 are listed only). But I can't find any ISO for W8. Can you please help, as I need urgent access to Internet. I can't replace the network adapter right now because I know that it does work but the BIOS is not recognizing it or something (It shows up in Device Manager as enabled and working properly, it shows being Enabled in Network Adapter settings aswell but t says Not Connected. The Wifi button is greyed out).

Lastly, I have learnt my lesson to never mess with the BIOS ever in my life again.

Hi:

Unfortunately, W8 was never available for download, so your only option would be to use the method I posted to install W8.1.

So, I take it the Broadcom Wi-Fi adapter was working fine before you updated the BIOS?

HP Recommended

Yes it was working fine before I updated the BIOS.

p.s I watched a YouTube video in which it shows on W7 how you can go in Bios settings and enable WLAN from Onboard Device configuration settings. I don't think this setting is in W10 BIOS though, but since you're the pro, I'll leave you up to this.

Unfortunately, I would have no idea how to get the Wi-Fi adapter to work again, since it is present in the device manager and shows as working normally.

You may want to try uninstalling the adapter and driver in the device manager, then physically removing the adapter, running the notebook without it, and then reinstalling it and see if Windows detects a hardware change and reinstalls it so it works again.

Is there any way to roll back the BIOS update? I tried transferring the F.14's exe file and then running it but it says it is not allowed to flash this file

Interesting...

Normally the release notes indicate that 'upon updating to this BIOS revision, previous versions cannot be installed.'

I don't see that message on any of the previous BIOS releases or on F.27.

So, I don't know why you can't flash back to F.14.

You may want to try downgrading the F.27 update to one of the other ones such as F.25, F.22, F.16...

BTW, BIOS update F.2A was the latest update HP released for your notebook.

I tried downgrading to F.26 but the 'HP BIOS Update and Recovery' software doesn't allow me to update it because it says that this BIOS update is not compatible with this device (keep in mind I'm running these .exe on the Pavilion g6, not any other laptop). I tried Creating recovery USB flash drive and then booting into the BIOS update screen by Win + B, but it doesn't boot, as the led of caps lock keeps blinking and nothing happens, even after 5 minutes.

Then, I saw 2 versions of F.25; the newer one  sp63746, is not supported by Pavilion g6 series. The other version sp62218.exe has a old UI and doesn't have the option to create a Partition on USB drive etc. I am attaching two screenshots below of this UI and the error. All the versions previous than this F.25 have the same UI and give me the same error everytime.

Also, I don't  see any F.2A as the latest version of BIOS. Can you perhaps link it for me? Are you sure it is the latest for HP Pavilion g6 2205-sia Notebook PC?

Also, now I'm getting this recovery error when I try to boot into Windows saying:

Spoiler

Your PC/Device needs to be repaired

The application or OS couldn't be loaded because a required file is missing or contain errors.

File: \Windows\system32\winload.efi

Error code: 0xc000000e

You'll need to use recovery tools. If you don't have any installation media (like a disc or USB device),   contact your PC admin or PC manufacturer.

What should I do now? I'm confused as to some YT videos say for Disabling Secure Boot or going to CMD Prompt in Advanced options and writing commands there but I can't access this CMD prompt because whenever I try to access it from Advanced options, this error comes up again.

I need to access my laptop and especially internet because I'm studying for my examinations and this is driving me crazy.

Hi:

Unfortunately, I wouldn't be able to help you with any of those BIOS issues.

Sorry.  F.2A was for the notebooks with the AMD processors, so F.27 was the last update for your notebook.

At this point I would not suggest you try doing anything with any BIOS updates.

To fix the Windows problems, you will probably need to reinstall Windows--either W10, or W8.1.

If you can't get the wireless to work, you can always use a USB dual band Wi-Fi adapter.
