Hello.
I own a refurbished HP ProBook 6450b that I’ve owned and used for years, but yesterday I ran into a unique problem.
Recently I’ve been having trouble with WiFi connectivity after updates. (I can’t turn it on manually for some reason, but Usually if I change a setting with LAN during boot up and then start it, it works after that. This problem I e been dealing with for a while now so it is nothing new.)
However, during that restart I found that Windows wasn’t loading. As in, the loading screen for Windows that I usually see after the HP logo wasn’t there and instead it was just a black screen.
I’ve attempted a couple solutions before this. Hard reset (though when I tried to hold down the button, it just turned on and off, so I don’t think it’s possible for mine?) restoring defaults, the WINDOWS+B trick, but all that did was have the laptop run with a black screen and nothing happening. I even left it running all night last night, but nothing happened.
Im starting to fear that my computer is “bricked”, which scares me because I have a lot of important files I’ve saved up for years on it. If I can’t save the computer, is there any way to salvage the memory or hard drive or something?
Also the OS was left unknown as I don’t know what version of Windows I’m running without checking, and I can’t check right now because I can’t even get into my computer. Sorry. I believe it’s either Windows 10 or 11.
Thank you for your time. Have a nice day.
