Product: HP Spectre x360
Operating System: Linux

Hi,

 

A few years back I bought an HP Spectre and loaded Arch Linux onto it. The Laptop has treated me well, except after adding a password to BIOS it immediately locks me out. I seem to have exceeded a character limit on the key and it will let me save that as the pass but not enter it? Either way I cannot reclaim my BIOS and am hoping the PC is not shot.

 

Please let me know what information would be helpful.

 

Hoping the PC isnt just bricked.

Usually after 3 attempts to use wrong password it will give you a system disabled Halt code. If you get the Halt code and post it here someone should be able to provide a passcode to get in.

Hi,

Thanks for the response! After 3 attempts I dont get anything about a Halt code.

 

It just shows HP SpareKey Recovery

System SN:[edit]

 

And says to insert HP Sparekey Recovery Key. I'm the sole owner of this PC and never set that up.
