HP Spectre x360

Hi all,

My late 2015 model HP Spectre x360 13t no longer chargers. I have read over 30 other similar posts about this same issue on this forum. It seems that this model laptop, and especially this production run has a defective design in the motherboard which causes this no-charge issue to occur.

I have tried all all of the possible solutions offered in the other posts I’ve read. Hard resets, updates, driver installs, BIOS updates and such. Nothing has worked. I am now down to 2% battery life.

This is clearly a defect issue with this product since there are so many similar cases with the same exact issue.

Can an employee from HP chime in on this to see what can be done? I have important software and data on this computer.

Thanks,

@BobaBaller Greetings! You've done your homework as most of the steps you've performed are accurate, although, could you tell me if you've checked with an alternate power cord or adapter and also, check if it works on an alternate wall outlet?

Since you've done everything else, I'll need the results of the above before we can proceed further.

I hope that answers your query,

Yes, I have tried 2 different power cords (Both Geniune HP) on many different outlets.

The laptop still would not charge with those attempts.

@BobaBaller The issue seems to be with the charger port or the batteries since you've tried with two different cables and yet the issue persists, I suggest you talk to HP support and discuss your options:

follow the below steps to get started:

1) Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/

2) Click on "Continue as guest".

3) Enter the serial of your device.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Click on "Show Options".

Fill the web-form, to populate a case number and phone number for yourself!
