HP Stream - 14-cb172wm

My HP Stream 14-cb172wm will not turn on and the charging port blinks 3 times when i connect ut to the motherboard. It also wont light up when i plug it in using 2 different chargers in 2 different locations.

If your HP Stream 14  laptop is not turning on and the charging port blinks 3 times when connected, it may be indicating a hardware issue. Here's a step-by-step guide to help troubleshoot.

 

Check the Power Supply: Ensure that the chargers you are using are functioning correctly. Sometimes, chargers can be faulty, so testing with a different charger or verifying the charger with another compatible device can help rule this out.

Inspect the Charging Port: Look for any visible damage or debris in the charging port. Sometimes, dirt or a damaged port can cause charging issues.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Disconnect the charger and any external devices.
  • Remove the battery (if it is removable).
  • Press and hold the power button for about 15-20 seconds to discharge any residual power.
  • Reconnect the battery and charger, then try turning on the laptop again.

Check the Battery: If the battery is removable, try starting the laptop with just the charger connected and the battery removed. If it powers on, the battery might be faulty.

Inspect Internal Components:

  • If you are comfortable with it, open the laptop to check if all internal components (like RAM and storage) are properly connected. Sometimes, loose components can cause power issues.
