Hi,

Really hoping someone can help with this problem.

I booted my laptop and it said 'boot device not found' a tea a memory check, such was fine. Harddrive check said I have no harddrive!

I tried restarting and now nothing will appear on the screen. Power light turns on and off when I press the power button. Charging light comes on when I plug it in but the mute light doesn't come on when I press the mute button.

I've tried holding down the letpo button for times from 8, 15, and 40 seconds, but there's no sign of any reset. Also tried holding Windows key, B, and power but there was no result.

Any advice appreciate!

Don't worry I will try to help you out. Let me ask you a few questions in order to assist you better.

Did you make any software or hardware changes on your PC?

Is the hard drive listed on the BIOS page?

Excellent description and a great diagnosis done. It is greatly appreciated.

It sounds like a hard drive issue.

However, Try the steps recommended below and check if it helps.

  3. Disconnect all external connected peripheral devices.

  4. Unplug the AC adapter from the computer.

  5. Remove the battery from the battery compartment.

  6. Press and hold down the Power button for 15 seconds to drain any residual electrical charge.

  7. Insert the battery and plug the AC adapter back into the notebook computer.

  8. Press the Power button to turn on the computer.

  9. If a startup menu opens, use the arrow keys to select Start Windows Normally, then press the Enter key.

  10. Reconnect each of the peripheral devices.

Restore BIOS default settings

Turn off the computer and wait five seconds.
Press the Power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu.
