HP Stream 7 Tablet - 5701

Ahoy, everyone

I was given a manky old Stream 7 to goof around with; but it's running Windows 10 and is locked down with Bitlocker.

Even if I could break into it, I just want to experience this nugget as it was meant to be used. This means I need to find a drive with the appropriate recovery software to roll back to 8.1 with Bing. Finding it online hasn't worked out, the only link I could find is long-dead.

A website called Computer Surgeons apparently has recovery media for sale. http://www.computersurgeons.com/p-27718-windows-81-wbing-32-bit-recovery-kit-801006-002-for-hp-strea...

And they've been mentioned in this post https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Boot-and-Lockup/Where-to-find-recovery-media-for-HP-Stream-7/...

I'm just wondering if PeteH55103 or any other users ended up purchasing a recovery drive from Computer Surgeons, and if they would be willing to share some feedback on the experience?

I can't find any reviews for the website online, and I'd like a bit of reassurance before I go dropping money on this, especially when this is all for a giggle; there's plenty of cheap used tablets that I could get for the cost of this recovery drive.

Just in case anyone stumbles across this thread, looking for similar info.

I took the plunge and ordered recovery media from the Computer Surgeons website.

The USB stick I received was well packed and they even included a micro-USB to USB-A adapter so I could connect it to the Stream 7, which was a nice touch.

Unfortunately, the media didn't work and said it was intended for a different computer; even though I definitely selected the right model when I placed my order.

I was promptly refunded, so I'm no further behind. But I'm back to the drawing board on finding a recovery stick for this thing.
