- My HP Stream Model 11-ah011wm Product Id: 5LE23UA#ABA will not turn on or boot. I use thislaptop everyday for school and it's the only one I have. I went to sleep and it was working fine. Woke up in the morning and my laptop is like dead. When I plug the AC adaptor in the charging light will come on and I can hear the fans, but the power button doesn't turn on, the screen doesn't light up, keyboard doesn't light up
Once I unplug the AC adaptor the computers fans turn off like the computer had shut down. I was just wondering is it possible laptop was taken apart during the night or us it a legit ament malfunction. When I woke up in the morning the screws on the bottom of my laptop were missing and so we're majority of screws internally. Please help

Hi @ItsJustJenn101,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP Stream 11 is facing a serious issue, especially with the screws being missing both externally and internally. Here are some steps to take.
Check for Physical Tampering: Since you mentioned that screws are missing and the laptop might have been taken apart, it’s crucial to check if the internal components are intact.
Power Cycle the Laptop:
- Disconnect the AC adapter and remove any connected peripherals.
- Press and hold the power button for about 15-30 seconds to discharge any residual power.
- Reconnect the AC adapter and try turning the laptop on.
Inspect the AC Adapter and Power Source:
- Ensure that the AC adapter and charging cable are working correctly by testing them with another compatible device, if possible.
- Check the power outlet for proper functionality.
Check the Battery:
- If your laptop has a removable battery, remove it and then try powering on the laptop with only the AC adapter connected.
- If the battery is non-removable, this step will not apply.
Inspect Internal Components:
- If you feel comfortable and have the necessary tools, carefully open the laptop to check if any internal components are disconnected or damaged.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
