I did a factory reset on this laptop (Windows 10 OS) so that I can transfer ownership. However, it at first ran into an error stating that it couldn't complete the recovery, the 2nd attempt it went through, and I've done everything (except usb windows install) and cannot fathom what else I can possibly do. After powering it on, the cursor pops up, the HP insignia comes on and then the screen just goes blank, the backlight remaining on but nothing from that point. I can access the BIOS and system startup menu but nothing has worked to getting it to work. Any other suggestions, or setups I can do in the startup system menus that might help? This is an old laptop and has hardly been used but a couple of times.
Additional information: the original plug/adapter went missing and a universal plug/adapter is used in its place, the battery does not charge, and the system component says that the battery is not installed. Not sure if that has anything to do with it, but it was working fine up until the reset.
