Attempting to 'Reset this PC' under Windows 10 64bit the HP Stream Notebook - 13-c055sa (ENERGY STAR), gave the message ‘There was a problem resetting your PC’. I tried more than once but same thing, then it stopped booting to Windows altogether, just a blank screen with the ‘CAPS LOCK LED BLINKING’ with what I discovered to be ‘error code 2.2’.
Component tested: BIOS
Light and beep pattern: 2.2 (blink)
Error condition: The main area (DXE) of BIOS has become corrupted, and there is no recovery binary image available. (Also happens when updating the BIOS.)
Troubleshooting steps: Perform BIOS recovery with external media (USB or CD-ROM). Go to HP Notebook PCs - Recovering the BIOS for additional information.
My query/concern is what BIOS version do I use for the BIOS recovery.
Now, I know all the guides instruct submitting Serial# of the PC but it’s not always as simple as that.
Firstly, doing that gives a BIOS version for the operating system detected from the serial number. ‘VERSION: F.1E REV: A’. No problem… but wait a minute…
I remember in the bios it states the original OS was Windows 8.1 AND...
Here it states… NOTE: If you upgraded the original computer to a new Windows version, in the Selected operating system pane, click Change, select the original operating system that came with your computer, and then click Change.
I do that and it gives BIOS ‘VERSION: F.22 REV: A’. ok I’m confused!
So I shut down the PC, start it up again and immediately press ‘ESCAPE’ to enter the ‘Startup Menu’ and choose F1: System Information, where the BIOS REVISION IS LISTED AS F.06.
So which one do I use to recover the BIOS… ANY HELP WILL BE APPRICIATED - TANKS

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
To get the answer to this question, yes! you can install the latest version of bios which is F.1E version.
The message indicates that computer shipped with the Windows 8.1 operating system and upgraded to windows 10.1, however for this computer the latest available bios version is F.1E. Click here to download
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
