Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Good day and please help!

My daughter has a HP Stream (Not 100% on the OS) to do her homework on. Recently it came to my attention that it wouldn't do Windows updates, telling her it was out of memory, and other similar things. I got it to install the updates, but it restarted today and now will not boot. Instead the caps lock key flashes 5 long and 3 short, https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01732674, meaning the embedded controller times out looking for the BIOS.

I checked the warranty, and it looks like it ended in August. Had she brought this to me when it was acting up months ago, it would have been covered. 

I need someone with a lot more knowledge on this to help me out and save me a few hundred dollars. If it wasn't for school, I wouldn't be as concerned.
