Microsoft Windows 11
Last week, my PC (HP ELITE notebook) was reset (seems like it was a Panic reset) and I got this message:

~"HP Sure Start detected an unauthorized change to the Secure Boot Keys. The key was restored automatically and there is no further action required. The repeated occurrence of this problem indicates a security problem and should not be ignored."~

Immediately after that, I had a "BIOS upgrade" (7 steps), that I disagreed with (happened automatically), I didn't see any "special events" in the "event viewer", and I wanted to know if it was something that related to HP or I got hacked (my last update of bios was around 3 months ago)

is there any suggestion/thoughts?

Welcome to the HP User Community.

If you have the HP Support Assistant installed,

If the HPSA > Settings are adjusted to allow "Automatic" updates,

(and)

If there was a BIOS update in the list of updates,

(then)

The BIOS update would likely be applied (run) by the HPSA.

Yes, it is considered obtrusive by some of us when updates (of any kind) are installed this way.

If this is what happened, switch OFF / adjust the settings for the HPSA

and

On a schedule of your own choosing, manually Open the HPSA  > "Check for Updates"

OR

Leave HPSA quiescent (sitting quietly) and

Go to your computer's home page > Open Category Software and Updates and check for new updates

You are welcome.

It was a guess - not accurate without the Elitebook model name and a general, "What if" answer.

Business class systems, including the Elitebook, need not use HPSA for updates.

Some people tend to install the HPSA anyway.

If you are using it, check HP Image Assistant is supported on your computer and Windows 11.

Regardless,

BIOS - and other updates - are not generally installed by HPIA unless told to do so...
