Hi @Michael0000001,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The loud beep sound when entering BIOS on your HP Victus 15 is usually a system alert or POST (Power-On Self-Test) confirmation sound. Unfortunately, HP does not always provide an option in BIOS settings to disable it. However, here are some ways you can try to mute or lower it.
Check for a BIOS Setting
- Enter BIOS by pressing F10 repeatedly at startup.
- Look for an option related to "Beep Sound", "POST Beep", or "Boot Sound" (some BIOS versions have this under "Advanced" or "Security" settings).
- If found, disable or mute it.
- Save and exit.
Lower or Mute System Speaker in Windows (May Not Work for BIOS Beep)
Since the beep comes before Windows loads, this might not help, but if the sound persists even after boot:
- Right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar.
- Open "Sound settings" → Go to "More sound settings".
- Find "System Sounds" or "PC Speaker", and set the volume to mute.
Disable PC Speaker (May Work)
Some HP laptops still have an internal "PC Speaker" for beep sounds. You can try disabling it:
- Press Win + X → Select "Device Manager".
- Expand "System Devices".
- Look for "Beep", "PC Speaker", or something similar.
- Right-click → Disable device.
Check if a BIOS Update is Available
Sometimes BIOS updates include fixes for annoying features like beeps:
- Go to HP's support page for your Victus 15.
- Check for the latest BIOS update.
- Install it using HP's BIOS update utility.
If Nothing Works: Physical Speaker Disconnection (Extreme Option)
If the sound comes from a small internal speaker on the motherboard, it might be possible to physically disconnect it (not recommended unless you're comfortable opening the laptop).
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
