Victus by HP 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop 15-fa2000 (A8VY0AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

So basically, I was playing Zenless Zone Zero just like every day after work, when suddenly my Laptop just crashed, checked the charging indicator and it was off, so I assumed that it wasn't plugged in correctly, unplugged and plugged back the power chord and the charging light turned on, but when I tried to turn the laptop on, the power indicator turned on for about 2~3 secs and then everything turned off again, both the power and charging lights and after that it won't turn on at all untill I unplug and plug the power chord back, this just keeps going and I'm kinda desperate because I use that laptop for my work as well... What can I do? I've had the laptop for no more than 2 months...

Hi,

Since the laptop is only about two months old, I would not open it or attempt internal repair. This should be handled under warranty.

Based on your description, this does not look like a normal Windows or game crash. The important symptom is that both the power light and charging light turn off, and the laptop will only try again after you unplug and reconnect the AC adapter. That usually points to a power protection event, AC adapter/DC-in issue, battery/power-management fault, or system board power circuit issue.

Please try only these safe steps:

  1. Disconnect the AC adapter and all external devices.
  2. Hold the power button for 15–20 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the original HP AC adapter directly to a wall outlet.
  4. Leave it connected for 30 minutes.
  5. Try turning it on again.

If it powers on, immediately run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics:

  1. Shut down the laptop.
  2. Power on and tap Esc repeatedly.
  3. Press F2.
  4. Run the System Test, Battery Test, and AC Adapter Test if available.

If there is any Failure ID, give it to HP Support.

Since the laptop is almost new, if it still shuts off after 2–3 seconds or loses the charging LED again, contact HP Support or the retailer for warranty service/replacement. Do not keep forcing power attempts, because this may be a hardware power-path fault.

In short, this should be treated as a warranty hardware issue, not a normal software crash.
