Victus by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-r1000 (8Z7S7AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello,
I'm reaching out with a rather strange problem. I just bought a new HP Victus laptop last week (Victus Gaming Laptop 16-r1041nt (9J243EA)).
I downloaded Windows 11 from Microsoft’s website (using the Create Windows 11 Installation Media tool). I installed it via USB. Then I slowly started installing software (all of the programs I installed were either original or freeware, like 7-Zip or VLC). At the same time, I was installing updates.
I updated the BIOS, updated Intel drivers, etc. Then I restarted the computer. And the laptop wouldn't boot. I started getting constant blue screen errors. It entered a boot loop. If it accidentally booted somehow, I clicked around a bit and it went back into the same loop.
I didn’t understand what was going on, so I formatted it again. Until I was able to reinstall Windows, I kept getting blue screens. I eventually managed to reinstall the OS, but the blue screens continued.
I formatted it again, and the loop started once more...
I don’t understand why this is happening. I Googled it and saw a few others had similar issues, but no clear solution was provided.
So I thought I’d try here and see if I could get an answer.

I really hope my issue can be resolved. Thank you in advance.

@aminaki, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Yikes, that’s frustrating! A brand-new HP Victus 16 running into blue screen loops right after a fresh Windows 11 install isn’t normal at all. Since you’ve already reinstalled Windows multiple times and updated everything, the problem could be hardware-related. Let's go step by step to get to the bottom of this.

Check RAM & Storage Issues

Since this happens even during Windows installation, it’s worth checking for faulty memory or SSD issues.

Run HP UEFI Diagnostics:

Shut down the laptop.

Press F2 repeatedly at boot to enter HP Hardware Diagnostics.

Run a memory test and an SSD test.

If errors appear, you may have faulty hardware (RAM or SSD).

If you have two RAM sticks, try booting with only one at a time (swap slots) and see if the issue persists.

Also, try running a system-extensive test.

Check BIOS Settings (Secure Boot & TPM)

A BIOS setting might be interfering with Windows.

Restart and press F10 to enter BIOS.

Try disabling Secure Boot (Advanced > Secure Boot Configuration).

Check if TPM (Trusted Platform Module) is enabled (Security > TPM Configuration).

Reset BIOS to Factory Defaults (Exit > Load Setup Defaults).

Reinstall Windows (With Correct Drivers)

Since you installed Windows from Microsoft’s website, it may lack HP’s specific drivers. Try this:

Download HP’s official Windows 11 Image

Go to HP Cloud Recovery Tool.

Create an official HP recovery USB.

Install Windows from this instead of Microsoft’s ISO.

Install Only Critical Drivers First

HP Consumer PCs - Using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool in Windows 11 and 10 | HP® Support

Check Blue Screen Error Codes

If you can boot even briefly, try this:

Open Event Viewer (Win + X > Event Viewer > Windows Logs > System).

Look for critical errors.

If possible, note down the error and let me know!

Let me know what the tests say! I’m happy to help further. 😊

Take care and have a good day.

Hello,
First of all, thank you for your response and your interest. Without further ado, I would like to say that I spoke with HP Support over the phone, and they asked me to send the laptop to the service center under warranty, which I did.

Now, let me explain what we have done so far:
As you suggested, we performed all the diagnostic tests, but no issues were found. Then, we tried resetting the BIOS with the help of the support representative over the phone, but it gave a BIOS 500 error. After that, we attempted a CMOS reset, but it didn't work.

We reset the BIOS settings and checked the TPM, but it didn't work. I also reinstalled Windows 11 (it was quite difficult to format it), but that didn't work either.

However, Tails OS and Ubuntu were working. I was even able to install Ubuntu successfully.

Long story short, that's how everything unfolded, and we decided to send it to the service center.

Hello everyone,

Update: HP Service in Turkey, they examined the laptop and they will replace motherboard and RAMs. Now, we are waiting for the parts to arrive at the office.
