HP Victus laptop won't shutdown while dual booting with Linux. I found all the articles on this site say to try acpi kernel parameters or to just use ParrotOS; claiming it's an acpi problem. I found that the Nvidia drivers were not installed and were not showing up under additional drivers like they were supposed to. After installing manually with "sudo apt-get install nvidia-driver-440" everything worked. Your mileage may vary you may need a different version but this isn't an acpi problem like it appears but a problem with X server not shutting down or perhaps a combination of the two but the problem went away with the driver install for me.

Literally.....ubuntu linux got shutdowned normally after that....
Thank-you so much.....
It had been a very troublesome and risky situation to do forced shutdown by pressing power off button too long.
However, I show my thankfulness that my problem got solved.
