HP ZBook 15 G5 Mobile Workstation IDS Base Model

Dear HP Community

Today, my Windows got upgraded, which created some issues. In order to resolve the issues, I tried to clean install it. After formatting my drive, upon reaching 50% of the setup, I got an error. After that, I tried to change the BIOS settings, and now I'm having trouble booting up my laptop HP Z Book 15.

The current status is that, whenever I restart the laptop, the hp bios gives me information that secure boot keys were invalid and now they were restored and I have nothing to do. After that it takes my password and restart. I am unable to enter into setup mode, quick boot mode or anything else to get my bios setting updated.

I tried pressing WINDOWS + B but the same things happened again and again.

Urgent help is appreciated.

Finally, after a week full of hassle and efforts with frustration on peak due to HP's wrong implementation of Sure Start that made this premium laptop a flat brick, rather tile, i finally got my hands back on the working system.

What solution is got is the desoldering of BIOS Chip, Its reprogramming and flashing of original bios firmware and reinstalling the chip back into the motherboard.

The whole thing cost me 3 days and around 50 USD however my laptop is back in working condition now.

After going through the web, i have come to know that this is the known issue of HP with Microsoft updates and though in this article https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_9642671-9641393-16?jumpid=in_r11839_us-en/PCSecureBootErr The only remedy given was to update the bio which is updated in my case.

This boot loop issue can be bypassed simply if they implemented some keystrock to disable / skip hp sure start. I am very astonished that the thing meant to start the pc/laptop is the thing preventing it to start.

On the other hand, hp is not doing anything for those having warranty expired except billing some 500 Euro (As discussed with other impacted with the same) for motherboard replacement. COME ON HP. A mother board replacement when you can have to bypass a simple glitch of poor programming of one of the routine of BIOS priority.

I opened the case with hp support which was immediately closed without any comment.

Need HP verdict on this issue asap as leaving users in the dark who invested such hefty amount on premium version of the HP ZBook is insane.  Think of a person having a 32 GB xeon mobile processor workbook doing important PhD work on it when out of sudden, without doing anything wrong (The issue is in between Microsoft update and hp implementation) have a bricked version of laptop in front of him/her.

HP ... anything to say to save such users who I am sure will increase in the coming months as more and more persons will face this issue in near future after microsoft's updates.
