Hi @Jdub561,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Chromebook 360 is experiencing issues with booting up, the blinking power button and the fan turning on and off suggest a potential hardware or firmware problem. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

Perform a Hard Reboot:

  • Press and hold the power button for at least 15 seconds to force a hard reboot.
  • Release the power button and then try turning on the Chromebook again.

Disconnect External Devices:

  • Disconnect any external devices (USB drives, external hard drives, etc.) and try booting the Chromebook without them.

Check Power Adapter and Battery:

  • Ensure that the power adapter is properly connected to both the Chromebook and a working power outlet.
  • If your Chromebook has a removable battery, try removing it, and then reinsert it before attempting to power on the device.

Perform a Power Wash (Factory Reset):

  • If possible, perform a power wash or factory reset. Keep in mind that this will erase all local data on the Chromebook. To do this:
    • Turn off the Chromebook.
    • Press and hold "Esc + Refresh" keys and then press the power button.
    • When the recovery screen appears, press "Ctrl + D" and follow the on-screen instructions.

Access Recovery Mode:

  • If the power wash doesn't work, you can try accessing the Chromebook's recovery mode. Turn off the Chromebook, then press and hold "Esc + Refresh" keys and press the power button. Follow the on-screen instructions to recover or reinstall the Chrome OS.

Update Firmware:

  • Check if there are any firmware updates available for your Chromebook. Sometimes, updating the firmware can resolve compatibility issues. To do this, you may need to access the recovery mode and choose the option to update the firmware.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
