Hi!
I've had this computer for over 5 years, and the battery was dying a few months back. I moved to another country, which forced me to use a power outlet adapter so I could plug it to the outlets. I was forced to stop using it since mid-January as my adapter was damaged by another person, and was only able to buy a new one now in late April.
When plugged it in, I noticed the power LED would not turn on. I tried to power it plugged in, with the battery on, but nothing would happen. I tried without the battery, same thing. The LED just never turned on anymore.
I left it plugged in for a whole day, without luck. I know the power cord must be sending current as it warms up a little, and so does the area around the power socket on the computer. Still, nothing happens.
Any ideas would be very welcome!
I am going to a store nearby to see if they have another power cord so I can test, or perhaps even buy.
If the problem is on the board or connectors... any workarounds so I don't need to take it to assistance?
Thank you!

Greetings @denis_yoshi,
Thanks for the post and Welcome to HP Forums.
I understand that your computer is not powering on, the light on the adapter is not lighting up and you are on your way to the store to try a different adapter.
Kudos to you for trying to troubleshoot the issue on your own.
Not to worry, I will be glad to help.
You are on the right way, please try a different adapter and if none of the lights come up on our computer, then please contact our phone support for the service options available.
Considering the age of the computer, if it turns out to be an issue with the computer, recommend you go for a new computer.
Let me know how it goes.

Hi @Chimney_83
Thank you for your response!
I have tested with a generic charger the guy had, and some of the lights at his charger (it had multiple LEDs) would start blinking after plugging in, and would go back to normal (one LED continuously on) when unplugging. My computer seemed to be causing some sort of interference on the current going back to the charger. Also, the lights on my computer did not switch on. So I believe it is some sort of issue with either the board, or any of the components in between such as the connector...
Will have to check if there is anywhere around that could run proper diagnostics to see what the problem really is... hopefully at the lowest cost possible. The store that I went to don't that kind of service.
Thanks.

Thanks for the reply, as there are no lights coming up on the computer. It is more likely a hardware issue, please do check with the service center of your choice or contact our phone support for the service options available.
Keep me posted. Good Luck.
