I have HP envy 15-bp143cl note book, which I bought from Costco, last year.
When I press power button, it does not turn on, Charger connected and charge light is solid on.
Tried 15-sec press of power button but no luck.
Any help, please?
My daughter is using this in university and she needs to have it resolved asap for her PHD course work .
Thanks.

Hi
This will not work for everyone, but you may be lucky?
HP Notebooks and Mobile Workstations -
No Power, No Boot, No Display When Power Button Is Pressed
NOTE: Be sure the battery is installed in the computer and it has sufficient power before continuing. Due to the design of the Embedded Controller/Keyboard Controller, the power supply must be disconnected and the computer must be powered with battery power to reset the Embedded Controller/Keyboard Controller.
Unplug the AC power from the computer.
Press and hold the power button for more than 12 seconds.
Release the power button (after at least 12 seconds).
The computer will power on and should boot normally after releasing the power button.
Re-connect the AC power to the computer.
NOTE: In case the battery is not charging after performing the steps to reset the Embedded Controller, unplug and re-plug in the AC power again.

Thanks.
I tried that many times but no luck.
What could have gone wrong?
I read that someone else has the same problem and mentioned power button issue.
If that is the case, then it looks like poor product quality by HP.
The power switch broke in just one year of use. Very bad HP.

I have the very same issue. I have had it into the computer store three times @ 99. 00 A service call.
one day it comes on, another day it dies. I have replaced the cord without success
this is one faulty, poorly made laptop

My daughter has the same problem. She took it to a repair shop and the person told her that this is a poorly made laptop and advised her not to buy again. He was able to turn it on but by opening the case and also found that the SSD not working either.
Her is only one year old. Fortunately we bought from Costco, so she is covered under warranty.
Will not recommend this laptop to anyone.
