Hi @Dipilacs,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It looks like your HP laptop is encountering hardware issues related to the drive or diagnostic tests. Here’s a step-by-step guide to address the error and perform basic troubleshooting.

Check Boot Device Configuration:

  • Restart the Laptop:
    1. Turn off your laptop.
    2. Turn it back on and immediately press the ESC key repeatedly until the Startup Menu appears.
  • Access Boot Options:
    1. Press F9 to enter the Boot Device Options menu.
    2. Check if your hard drive or SSD is listed. If it's not listed, it may indicate a hardware issue.

Run Hard Drive Test:

  • Enter HP Diagnostics:
    1. Restart your laptop and press ESC to enter the Startup Menu.
    2. Press F2 to access HP Diagnostics.
  • Run a Hard Drive Test:
    1. Select "Hard Drive Check" or "Primary Hard Drive Self-Test."
    2. Follow the on-screen instructions to run the test.

Check SMART Status:

  • SMART Check:
    • If the SMART check fails, it typically means your hard drive may be failing or has issues. The "Executing DST" message indicates that the diagnostic tool is performing a more detailed test on your hard drive.

Check for Loose Connections:

  • Power Off and Disconnect:
    1. Power off your laptop and unplug it.
    2. Open the back panel (if you're comfortable) and ensure that the hard drive or SSD is properly connected to the motherboard.
    3. Reconnect everything and close the panel.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Reset Your Laptop:
    1. Power off your laptop.
    2. Disconnect all external devices (USB drives, external monitors, etc.).
    3. Remove the battery (if removable) and press and hold the power button for 15-30 seconds.
    4. Reinsert the battery and power on the laptop.

Boot from Recovery Media:

  • Use Recovery Media:
    1. If you have a Windows recovery USB or disc, insert it and restart your laptop.
    2. Follow the instructions to repair your installation or reinstall Windows if necessary.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
