When i turn my laptop on, it begins normally, displaying HP across the screen, but after the HP logo goes away, this is where my laptop gets stuck and it is unable to move forward from a black scree with the loading circle-dots near the bottom center. I have tried restarting it, but the problem persists. I am afraid of doing a hard reset for fear of losing all of my important business docs, school docs, etc.

Is there a way I can fix this issue without losing anything saved on my laptop?

@KEDarrigan

You are right to avoid the hard reset as that does risk corrupting the files and losing all the stuff you apparently did not bother to back up.

Since you can't boot into Windows, your only options now for doing file retrieval is either to remove the drive and connect it to another PC, or use another PC to create alternate boot media you can use to start your PC and open up a file manager from which you could then copy files to a USB stick.

Which approach do you want to pursue?
