My laptop heats up to 97 c while playing games like ''rainbow six siege" and "apex legends"
I tried lowering the resolution and got a higher fps and the temp decreased to around 93 c on apex. But still touches 97 c on siege
I then bought a laptop cooler - tarkan heavy duty - which reduced siege temps to 93 c. I still haven't tested the cooler with apex .but coolers aren't a permanent solution as I have read that they get spoilt after a while
Recently I have discovered a feature on omen command centre called 'comfort mode' that reduces temps of cpu and GPU but I am wondering if it hampers gaming experience
HP I'd love it if you would get back to me on this.

@FattyPanda (is that kungfu panda's friend or his nickname) 😉
The comfort mode is designed to cool down the device, and it shouldn't normally affect the game performance, I'd suggest you turn that on and let me know how that goes,
Also, if the device is overheating up to 100c, that's normal for a gaming device, the Tjunction on your processor can handle that heat, nevertheless, it's better to make sure it doesn't reach such levels, to be on a safer side.
You may attempt the below steps to ensure there's no lag on your game:
- Right-click your desktop background and select NVIDIA Control Panel. You can also find this tool by performing a Start menu (or Start screen) search for NVIDIA Control Panel or by right-clicking the NVIDIA icon in your system tray and selecting Open NVIDIA Control Panel.
- To quickly set a system-wide preference, you could use the Adjust image settings with the preview option. For example, if you have old hardware that struggles to play the games you want to play, you may want to select “Use my preference emphasizing” and move the slider all the way to “Performance.” This trades graphics quality for an increased frame rate.
- By default, the “Use the advanced 3D image settings” option is selected. You can select Manage 3D settings and change advanced settings for all programs on your computer or just for specific games. NVIDIA keeps a database of the optimal settings for various games, but you’re free to tweak individual settings here. Just mouse-over an option for an explanation of what it does.
- If you have a laptop with NVIDIA Optimus technology — that is, both NVIDIA and Intel graphics — this is the same place you can choose which applications will use the NVIDIA hardware and which will use the Intel hardware.

It would be cool if I was related to kung fu panda but sadly no @riddle_decipher
Anyways thanks for the help
I can tell u that none of my games have throttled so far so I guess that's a sign that my systems are holding up. I was just concerned about wether or not the heat would fry my laptop's components but if you say that it is designed to handle this temperature then I'll take your word for it
Also my laptop now runs at 90 C on comfort mode and it hasn't affected gaming. Which is an improvement so I'm happy.
But on my omen command centre the description of comfort mode says that it is used for casual tasks which made me think that it couldn't handle heavier tasks like gaming. so I suggest that you put in a word to change that description so that future customers do not get misled
Thanks for the assistance
