Please Help me,

I bought my HP pavilion laptop long too long ago, it was working fine, everything was fine. I gave it to my friend one day and he brought it back saying it was not starting it remained black screen with led light and caps lights blinking. And it was automatic booting in DVD driver, I don't have a DVD with windows inside, So i followed one article online which say to hit esc key immediately on starting, so i did and laptop worked fine. But next day it was completely low, i charged it and when i start it, it worked fine after hitting esc. After lunch i check and try to type keyboard was not working, i try many time it worked again, So i switch it off and when i start it did the same thing booting in DVD-Rom where there is no DVD disk inside, so the screen remained black. I press the power botton and it started and i hit esc key it does nothing, laptop remain black screen. I connect a USB keyboard and hit esc key also not working, please tell me what to do??

@Mwanza Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that you are getting a black screen.

Perform the below steps:

Please try to connect to the external monitor and check for the display.

If the computer does not start, the LED lights do not glow, and the display is black,

you can perform one or more of the following actions to resolve the no power issue:

(Click on the blue letters to get more details about each step)

  1. Examine the adapter and power cord for physical damage

  2. Test the power from the AC wall outlet to the notebook connector

  3. Start the computer using the battery only

  4. Check that the lid switch moves freely

  5. When you have completed the troubleshooting steps, there should be power available to the computer. When you press the power button, the LEDs should glow, and you should hear the sounds of the fan and the hard drive spinning.
