Hi, everyone. I've seen similar issues discussed on these forums, but I haven't quite found one that is specific to what I am experiencing.
Recently, my computer had a cooling fan and battery replaced by an authorized service provider. I just got it back this week. I had my computer on and off to the side when I noticed that the screen froze, so I was waiting for it to unfreeze. Suddenly, it gave me a BSOD and turned off. When I turned it back on, it gave me the Hard Disk Error 3F0 Boot Device Not Found issue. The only option I was given was to go into F2 and run some tests. By the way, when I do so, it flashes "Failed Locating Simple File System Protocol" for a brief moment before taking me to the menu.
The Hard Drive passed quick and extensive tests, the processor passed, the system board passed, and the battery passed. The only ones I am unsure about are storage and memory.
For storage, it says "no storage installed." For memory, it seems to freeze when I try to test it, getting stuck around 4-5%. And when I say freeze, I mean that the computer becomes unresponsive. Pressing Esc key does not cancel the test. I have to power the computer off to get out of it. I am leaving it on for now while I work on creating a boot program in a USB drive, so we'll see. I can't even get into the F11 recovery menu.
Sorry for the long post, but I wanted to ask - is it possible a memory module failed? What could be the error, and what would it take to fix it?
