Hello Experts. My problem is bothersome but not (at this point I hope) fatal. Over the last week, on each startup, I receive a black screen > "Hard Disk Error" and am instructed to run HP Diagnostics to test the hard drive. Each time we run the diagnostic test (the quick test and the comprehensive test) all results are fine. We exit HP Diagnotics, and boot up like normal....only to face the same problem on the next start up.

Any advice?

Hi @pappageo

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the Hard Disk error.

Please try these steps to update the computer -

Step 1 Windows Updates -

1) In the search box, type and open Windows Updates.

2) Check for updates.

3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

Step 2 HP Support Assistant Updates -

1) In the search box, type and open HP Support Assistant.

2) Check for updates.

3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

Download and install the BIOS from this link.

If the issue still persists, please try these steps - HP PCs - Improving PC Performance (Windows 10)

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
