I recently replaced my old hard drive with a new one from HP because it was dying, but when I boot up my laptop I get a hard disk error and can't access BIOS. The error I get is:
Hard Disk Error
Please run the Hard Disk Test in System Diagnostics.
Hard Disk 1 (3F1)
F2 System Diagnostics
Running the diagnostic says that it's fine. I've unplugged the hard drive and plugged it back in, tried opening BIOS, tried booting from a usb with an install drive, but it stays on the error screen.

Hi,
When you say you replaced the drive with a new one from HP, what do you mean? Was it replaced under warranty or you inserted an HP drive?
Did you have the same error before replacing the drive?
Do you not have an old drive lying around which you can try or even get a 120GB SSD for about 20$ and give it a try.
Hope it helps,
David
