I'm getting a hard disk error.

please run the hard disk test in system diagnostics.

Do as suggested by running the Diagnostic routine

To run the Diagnostic routine, with the PC off, start tapping the "Esc" key, while still tapping the "Esc" key press the start button.
Keep tapping the "Esc" key until a pop-up menu appears. Then pick Diagnostics, F2.

Report back with the results.
