Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HP Omen Desktop hard drive failure. “Boot device not found” O ran all system diagnostics and all tests passed. Restart computer and still same message. This isn’t the first time. The first time I ran diagnostics and restarted, all was good for about a month. Now it won’t work. Do I just need to replace the hard drive?

@HatredsGames

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

While you respond to that, let's try these steps:
Reset your computer through Windows Recovery Environment if Windows does not start as expected.

  1. Choose a method to open Windows Recovery Environment.

    • Restart your computer, and then immediately press the F11 key repeatedly.

  2. On the Choose an option screen, select Troubleshoot.

    Selecting Troubleshoot in the Windows Recovery Environment

  3. On the Troubleshoot screen, select Reset this PC.

    Selecting Reset this PC to start the reset process

  4. Follow the instructions to reset your computer. This might take a few minutes.

And, also install clean OS using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool in Windows 11 and 10: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_4511095-4511141-16

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
