HP ZBook Power 15.6 inch G9 Mobile Workstation PC (4T501AV)

I am having issues with a brand new laptop, it has crashed and blue screened around 5 or 6 times.

I have formatted and re-installed windows and re-downloaded all the current drivers and I am still getting blue screened.

I have checked in the reliability history and it is showing live kernel event code 144.

Anyone got any recommendations?

Welcome to the HP Community --

We are a Peer-to-Peer Forum for people who use HP Technology.

Brand new might mean that Windows Updates have not completed yet.

Check / Run Windows Updates again...

Brand new can also mean that you need to install and run the HP Image Assistant (HPIA) to make sure your HP updates are install and current.

What?

Depending on the actual age of the workstation, it might need HP driver updates.

Having already installed your personal data and files can mean that you have inadvertently installed software or  some kind of personal data file that is not compatible with the current Operating System.   These can be frustratingly difficult to track down -- leave that one alone for now.

There might actually be a hardware error -- Zbooks are tough and reliable but, you know, things can happen.

Contact HP Support.

HP Support – Hardware / Technical Support for Devices in Warranty

Registered Devices in Warranty:

Select a method and contact HP Support

Open website  HP World-Wide Support

Select your region and follow the prompts

 ---------------------------------------------------

Reminders - READ

Case submission to HP Support is available to those whose devices registered and are still in Warranty.

Some regions display phone / chat contact information only after the case is submitted online

Not every issue is covered under the standard Hardware Warranty.  Purchased Care Pack Warranties differ by contract.

HP is not a "general" repair facility: Requests for out-of-warranty repairs are usually not accepted.

If the problem is hardware, if your device is in Warranty, if your device is Registered, and you cannot submit your case to Support, let us know and we will forward a request.

Important

HP Phone numbers you find on the Internet have likely been hijacked. Old HP phone numbers – those numbers no longer used by HP since the move to “online” case submissions – might have been taken over by thieves.

Do not be a victim.

Stay vigilant.
