HP Spectre x360-13-4103dx (ENERGY STAR)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
Before I start I have to say this has happened ONE other time before and it took a few days to work again.

Here's my situation: I was on my laptop the other night and I set it down for a minute. I picked it back up, put it on my lap and moved my mouse and suddenly the screen starting glitching (funky lines and colors moving all across the screen really going bonkers).
It was frozen, freaking out so I had no choice but to turn off my laptop (by holding down the power button (note: I've done this several times and it was never problematic)).
When I tried to turn it back on nothing happened. I pushed the power button, and it lit up. The key that controls the keyboard LEDs lit up AND my charger light IS working (orange when charging, white when fully charged) but the screen just won't turn on. The fans inside the laptop are even working too! When I leave it on and plugged in, it starts to heat up. But just a blank screen.

I've held down the power button for like 15 seconds many times. I've plugged into an HDMI and the TV doesn't register the screen. I've left it on and plugged in for hours. Left if off and plugged in for hours. Left it on until it died. I've tried everything folks. It just won't work. I HAVEN'T tried unscrewing the back because I don't own a star headed screwdriver small enough to get the screws out.

It's been roughly 43 hours since it stopped working. I'm a junior college student so my laptop is a very crucial tool for getting my studies done. I can't afford to take this in a get it fixed by someone, and I don't know if/when it will start working again. If someone has any solution I haven't thought of yet or has experienced the same problem PLEASE HELP!!!

Thank you!!

Unfortunately this is common with the Spectre X360 13 -4103dx. Usually requires a new motherboard.

As I understand, your notebook screen remains blank.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

Do you get a blinking light on the caps lock key?

Let's try the troubleshooting steps mentioned in the article:

Computer Starts but Screen Remains Blank (Windows 10, 😎

Experiencing a black screen with a non-blinking cursor when starting the computer after updating Windows

Step 1: Performing a hard reset

Step 2: Connecting an external monitor to test the display

Step 3: Recovering the notebook BIOS using a key press combination

That seems really extreme to be a common problem. Motherboards cost almost as much as the computer itself.

I appreciate your response. My computer still isn't working so I'm going to have to get it fixed. It costs so much money don't know how that will happen but.

I also did try literally everything HP suggested as a solution and none of it worked
