I just installed a HP SSD EX920 M.2 256GB unit in my Envy. I cloned my HDD to the SSD with the hopes of changing the boot option to the SSD. The SSD shows up in Windows explorer but not in my Bios. How do I fix this!? Thank you for any assistance.

I found a work around! I re-installed the HDD along side the m.2 SSD and ofcourse when I started up the laptop it booted from the HDD. I then installed MiniTool Partition Wizard and used it to wipe all the partitions on the HDD. It warned me that the drive had windows on it but since my clone on the SSD has been working great I rolled the dice. Well when the MiniTool Partition Wizard was done working it's magic the laptop restarted and it booted from the SSD perfectly. All I had to do was go into Disk Management and allocate the HDD drive to gain my 1TB of storage back. I now have a SSD for my C drive and a HDD for my D drive which I renamed Storage. I have lost zero data due to backing it all up prior to the OS clone to the new m.2 SSD and it along with a RAM upgrade from 8gb to 16gb have made my ENVY blazing fast! Very happy with my upgrade.

What EXACTLY is the model/product of your HP ENVY x360 15 Ryzen 5 ? Please try
(a) Remove HDD and use SSD only,
(b) If happy, format and clear old HDD then put it back for storage.
Regards.

I have the ENVY x360 m Convertible, Model 15m-bq121dx.
(a) When I remove the 1 TB HDD the system boots from the m.2 SSD with no issue.
(b) What I wanted to do was simply change the boot option and format the HDD without removing it. I do not have another way of formatting the HDD out side of the laptop currently.
Do you know of a way to accomplish this?
Thanks!
