Acer Aspire 5
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hey! Im trying to reset my BIOS password because I don't have access to it. My unlock password is not available from the usual locations (bios-pw) so I thought I would ask the community.

 

I've already called Acer support but they practically just started crying when I told them I wanted to void the warranty.

 

Anyone can help? My key is [edit]

No, sorry.  We can't help.

 

Even if you had an actual HP product, we are prohibited from breaching the computer security.

If Acer can actually help you, that is your best option.  Go back and bug them a bit more...

 

Be wary of people who might contact you nefariously (by private message, for example) and claim they can help if you would just give them your private information - and a credit card.  Vermin infest the Internet; forums and communities are no exception.

I'd kindly accept your response and find another method, but it seems you are mistaken. Another form on this forum shows user DavidPK accepting the user's request and providing a unlock password, including the fact the he too had a acer device. 

 

The form I'm referencing is as follows: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebooks-Archive-Read-Only/Enter-unlock-password-Key-75200896/td-p/50...

 

So I'd again like to request the Unlock Password for the BIOS of my Acer Device if any individual can supply me with it. If this is somehow breaching the rules, I'd love to speak to an admin on why others are allowed to breach rules whilst I am prohibited 🙂

Rules change... this one is not negotiable.

It makes little enough difference to the outcome even were the machine an HP.

Change was effective March 2019.
