Hi @XJ9

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I understand that you are unable to sign in because Windows reports that the user profile cannot be found, preventing you from entering or resetting your PIN. Additionally, you are unable to perform a System Restore or recovery because BitLocker protection is enabled, and you do not currently have access to the BitLocker recovery key.

  • On the sign-in screen, select Sign-in options and check whether you can log in using your Microsoft account password instead of the PIN.
  • If you are unable to sign in, attempt to locate the BitLocker recovery key by:
  • Signing in to your Microsoft account from another device and reviewing the Devices section for any stored recovery keys.
  • Checking whether the recovery key was saved to a USB drive, printed, or stored in a document when BitLocker was first enabled.
  • Contacting your organization's IT administrator if the device was issued by a workplace or educational institution.
  • If you can access the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE), avoid selecting recovery options that prompt for the BitLocker key unless you have successfully located it.
  • If the BitLocker recovery key cannot be found and the device remains inaccessible, please contact Microsoft Support regarding recovery key retrieval options associated with your Microsoft account.
