Hi.
I have a HP ZBook Studio G3 Mobile Workstation with Thunderbolt 3 Dock.
If I connect the USB-C to the laptop directly then I can see the USB-C in the boot list and boot a Linux operation system.
But when I connect it to the USB-C port of Thunderbolt 3 Dock, then I do not see in the Boot menu (in Bios F9 pressed)
Can I somehow configure the BIOS of the laptop to be able to see in the Boot menu my Linux based external USB-C pendrive?
Many thanks.

Reading this:

Would suggest that maybe disabling FastBoot in the BIOS might help. The latest BIOS would need to be installed as well.
I don't have the equipment to test with so this is just guessing.
Does it behave any differently if you use the Windows boot manager (keep the Shift key down when you select Restart in Windows)?

Hi.
I use the newest BIOS version for the G3 Studio and yes FastBoot is disabled.
I checked, and It seems something wrong with the USB-C input handling.
I mean, if I try to connect directly to the laptop, nothing happen..., but If I use the USB-3.0 ports of laptop, then I can see in the Bootmenu and boot (in UEFI, in legacy mode too)
It seems to me the laptop cannot handle any boot operations through the USB-C ports.

Just to confirm..you have set the Thunderbolt security level to 0/No Security in BIOS and also have the latest firmware loaded on the dock?
I believe the firmware should be this if I'm looking at the right dock:
I wish the guide was more clear about the boot. Seems Dell computers have a separate 'Thurnderbolt boot support' option in BIOS. Maybe HP would need more support from BIOS as well, who knows.
