HP EliteBook 840 G1
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Hello, I have been using my new HP EliteBook 840 G1 for a week now , and the other day I noticed that during bootup , A message at the down left-most corner of the screen saying "press esc to enter startup menu", I have no idea what caused it to appear, i have never accessed the bios of this notebook before , and I'd like to remove it because to me it is annoying to see it everytime i turn on the Notebook.

PS: The notebook is perfectly functional and there are absolutely nothing wrong with it, and the message disappears after about 6 seconds of the bootscreen.

Hello;

Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!

Annoying or not, it is there to tell folks how to launch the HP utiliities menu -- and as far as I know, there is no way to remove it.

You can not remove it . . . . .but you can reduce the time for the message on the screen . . . . . . . By pressing esc button when the messege is on the screen and get into the bios utility and open boot or advance menu and get into the boot configuration in the end of the list and in the top u can see post display time (or any other thing with a digit in bracket) and if the digit is 0 u can't do anything or if u see any other digit .......... Replace it with 0
