HP Notebook - 15-bs158sa
Microsoft Windows 11

I have a HP Notebook - 15-bs158sa,  Product: 2PR32EAR

This had BIOS F.22 (7.24.2017) all working fine and then HP said it had an updated BIOS and after running it i have the black/blank screen and tried all the restarts with and without battery and power, removed memory and the windows key with B and V and F10 and F11 but nothing works

I'm now trying to locate the original BIOS version above to put onto a USB and see if it will boot and recognise from that or not HOWEVER, i can't find it anywhere

HP only keep offering the BIOS version that ruined it all (update F.71 for windows 10) but i have win 11 from windows updates and too late to downgrade

any help please

Hi:

HP only has previous versions going back to F.32.

Click on the Revision History + sign on the above page and scroll all the way to the bottom to get the BIOS file you want.

Thank you for your reply

Do you think it is the correct BIOS though because it was this F.71 that has made the whole prroblem?

I have just tried writing to USB and booted the laptop but exactly the same, blank screen (and tried external monitor), only fan spins and white power light stays on, no BIOS activity

Any other ideas or another BIOS for this ?

Details taken prior to the crash...:-

The board is HP 832A 23.38

UEFI: Insyde F.22  7/24/2017

Thank you

You're very welcome.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't be able to help you with the problem you are having.

The one time I had a BIOS failure like that, I stripped the notebook down for the parts I wanted to keep and recycled it at my local PC repair shop.

Generally, issues like that cannot be fixed by us ordinary folks, and the costs to repair may outweigh the benefits.

Thank You for trying anyway

Thanks to HP - The motherboard is bricked and useless due to the failed BIOS update they are showing

Now had to order a new motherboard online for the owner - THANKS HP....!!!!
