Probook 11 G2
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I've got a Probook 11 G2 and it has a BIOS password but I don't know what it is.  How can I reset the password or erase it?

I've tried entering a password but after three attempts it locks up and there is no error code shown.

Can I flash the BIOS without the password? Will that reset everything?

Hi:

Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do to help you, since HP will no longer supply the required SMC.bin file that is used to clear the BIOS password.

That was the only way it could be done.

Most HP business notebooks including the one you have, do not generate system disabled codes.

Also, removing the CMOS battery will not clear the P/W.

The forum rules were amended on 1 March 2019, which no longer allow us to help with removing passwords.

Rule 4.d...

d. No posts shall include instructions or directions intended to bypass or subvert security measures, including passwords, locking mechanisms, fingerprint scans, etc., or to bypass any safety measures.
