Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Right now I have an HP Pavilion Dv6t-2000, and I want to switch the boot mode from Legacy to UEFI. I know how to do it, but does my motherboard support it? To do it you are supposed to convert your disk from mbr to gpt. Then, you are supposed to go to your computer's BIOS, and in boot, select uefi boot. Then, you are supposed to save changes and exit BIOS, and the laptop has successfully been converted. The problem is I don't know if my computer supports switching the firmware from Legacy boot to UEFI. Thank you in advance.

Your notebook does not have a UEFI BIOS.

Notebooks with UEFI BIOS' have two lists of boot options--Legacy and EFI.

Yours just has one list of boot options and it is not labeled as either since the BIOS is legacy only.

Is there any way to get my computer on UEFI boot?

Unfortunately not.

There's nothing very special about UEFI.

The major advantage is that you can use drives in excess of 2 TB as boot drives.
