Hello:
I too am getting the 501 bios error message. As stated in your message, I am not using the HP Preload image and had to press the (i) to start the unit.
My challenge is I am using the unit with an HDMI output as the primary display. Currently the system won't boot with the HDMI cable plugged in. I read somewhere that if I changed the HP Preload image it would resolve the problem. Once the computer is booting I can plug in the machine and it works fine.
Any ideas on how to have the machine boot with the HDMI cable always plugged in?
Regards
Chris
