EliteBook 850 G3
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I work at a large company and often, when people are "termed" we (the IT Dept) are unable to enter the BIOS as the user added a password to the BIOS.

I've tried every combination of switches in the BIOS Configuration Utility but to no avail. The like new 850's and ZBooks are just sitting here collecting dust.  What to do?

Hello

you have to call HP support in your country and provide:

  • prove you are the owner of the computer and not a thief
  • provide serial number (with upper case letter)
  • Provide UUID of the computer

HP will provide you a file you have to copy in a USB key , the power-on the computer pressign some specific keys.

This will let you put another BIOS password.

It's the only way.

You can't remove the BIOS password using BCU.

Bye
